Is Upload Words free to use?
Yes. UploadWords is 100% free — no signup, no subscription, and no hidden charges.
Do I need an account to use UploadWords?
No. You can paste text or upload a file and analyze instantly.
What does the Upload Words tool do?
- Instant word count and character count
- Top keywords (most frequent words)
- Word cloud preview
- Download word cloud as PNG
- Copy results in one click (if enabled)
Privacy & Security
Do you store my text?
No. UploadWords is privacy-first. Your text is used only to generate results and is not saved as a public document.
Do you share my content with anyone?
No. We don’t sell or share your text content with third parties.
Can I use UploadWords for sensitive text?
We recommend avoiding highly sensitive personal data. For normal writing, SEO drafts, assignments, and reports, it’s safe to use.
Uploading & Supported Files
What files can I upload?
Currently, UploadWords supports .TXT uploads and paste input. DOCX support may be added later.
What is the maximum file size?
The maximum supported size is 4 MB.
My file upload isn’t working — what should I do?
- Make sure the file is .TXT
- Confirm file size is under 4 MB
- Refresh the page and upload again
- Try another browser (Chrome recommended)
Results & Accuracy
How is word count calculated?
We count words after cleaning extra spaces and symbols. Normal words and numbers are included.
What are “Top Keywords”?
Top Keywords are the most repeated words in your text. You can remove stopwords and set minimum word length for cleaner results.
Why do some words not appear in Top Keywords?
If stopwords removal is enabled, common words are filtered. Also, very short words may be removed if minimum length is set.
Why does the word cloud change after updating settings?
Word cloud is generated from the keyword list. When settings change, keywords change — so the cloud updates too.
Features
Does the tool auto-update while typing?
Yes. Results can update automatically as you type (with a short delay), so you don’t need to click Analyze every time.
Can I download the word cloud as an image?
Yes. Click Download PNG to save the generated word cloud.
Can I copy results?
Yes. You can copy word count and top keywords in one click (if enabled on your tool page).
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I click Analyze
- Add some text first
- Refresh the page
- Disable ad-block for this page
- Clear cache (plugin/server) and reload
Results are blank or layout looks broken
This is usually caching/CSS not loaded. Clear WordPress cache and do a hard refresh: Ctrl + F5.
